Age of Ascension
Being the most isolated of all the nations, Cael has had to rely on being able to sustain itself more than any nation. Generations of learning to live with whatever resources the island provides has created a nation with a strong sense of independence, and a populace full of proud citizens who put the needs of their nation before their own. The citizens make very little money because the majority of any profits from their work goes directly towards their local government. In exchange for this they are given a suitable home, just enough food to feed themselves and their families, and any other necessities that they may need. Due to this the people have little to no luxuries, but they are perfectly fine with this as they believe that every coin that they would have earned, would be served better by helping the nation provide for all its people.
The nation has a strong sense of community amongst themselves, and large sense of independence from the rest of the world. This has created a society that does not put much faith in the gods at all. The Caeliens do admit to the existence of the gods but have not seen any help or intervention from these higher beings, definitely not as much as their government provides for its people. Religion and it’s faith is by no means banished or non-existent. It has simply become a neglected aspect of people’s lives as they see it as a distraction from providing for Cael.
